Bridge over the main river, the path
leading up to Glow lake eventually. Other path stays on the right bank
of the river possibly leading over 3500m pass to Hawai, capital of
Anjaw district (according to Russian military map and some local map as
well). We initially wanted to try to get to Hawai by that path, but it
seemed too long and uncertain so turned to Glow lake. That path was
used up to 1994, when road following Lohit river was built for cars to
get to Hawai and Walong. So it might almost disappear in jungle as most
people moved from jungle down to Wakro ... I hope someone will
try if that path is still usable ... Bring machete! |
