The usual start from wadi Zarqa Main is
expensive Saudi owned spa resort (see big hotel in the distance). |
In order not to pay entrance to the
resort, we went back, to the road that leads to Panorama view
complex (but not reaching the complex itself) and tried to find some
path down to the main canyon. That was not fun with large backpacks. |

But what a nice surpise ... |

We finally got down to the main canyon.
At this place, Itai Haviv guidebook shows the way going above the main
canyon not throught the water. |

|
|
Water at this place, close the spa resort, was about 38 degrees Celsius. What a nice bath! |
It looked like going right through the
water would be possible here, althogh not showed like this in
guidebook. |

|
|
| We decided not to try it with big backpacks through the canyon and went above the canyon down to the sea in order to try it next day without big backpacks. |

Main ends with small dam, about 300m from Dead Sea, that enables
washing after the bath in the sea. |
Camping place about 100m in the canyon,
before the end of wadi Zarqa Main. Next day, we started light, able to
swim, as it should be for canyoning. We went upstream and then back
down the same way downstream. |

That part above the waterfall was much
better for water fun. It was about 3 hrs up to the waterfall, 2 hrs
down. |

main, water was only 30 degrees Celsius, as it was far from the hot
source at spa resort upstream. |

Wadi Manshala, short and drier wadi,
about 10km from wadi Zarqa Main along Dead Sea road. It was about 3-4
hrs trip incl. same way back. |

probably best atraction of otherwise not so spectacular wadi. |
